Wish | Aquazzura, part 2

Yesterday, instead of sleeping, I spent the night obsessing about those Aquazzura flats and asking myself whether or not I should – well actually, whether or not I could splurge and buy them. On one hand,  summer hasn’t even started yet and I already have 3 major social events (weddings) lined up… So these shoes are definitely NOT the smartest way to spend my entire summer wardrobe budget. But, on the other, I highly doubt that Cannes’ recent flatgate will have any effect on these weddings’ dress code… which means that I could take a cue from Leandra Medine and just wear them to all of these weddings…

The thing is: they are, even by my standards, way too somber for such joyous celebrations. So I did some looking around and found the perfect pair of flat sandals to attend a wedding, or 3. I’ll keep you posted…

Wish | Aquazzura

Today was the 29th edition of Montreal Museum’s Day and just as we’ve done for the past couple years, my cousin F and I set out to spend the day visiting the museums that were part of this year’s edition – all 34 of them. Ok fine, the truth: we had agreed on checking out 7 museums. And then 7 museums turned into 2 museums.

I should have known that our ritual was in peril when this year, for the first time ever, we chose to visit museums that were all located downtown. Anyhow, on our way to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, we walked by Holt Renfrew… One of its windows is showcasing its brand new Shoe Salon that launched officially earlier in this month. No need asking, I wasn’t at the event – my invitation must have gotten lost in the email… So, as I was saying, walking towards the MMFA, we saw a window display starring Jimmy Choo, Givenchy, Christian Louboutin and… Aquazzura. And just like that, Holts became part of our route and all the other museums fell by the wayside. I know I know: I just referred to Holts as a museum: it’s because just like at the MMFA, there’s lots to see, but only very things that I can actually afford to buy. As a consequence, I’ve now become infatuated with Aquazzura’s Christy pointy-toe flats. I feel like they are the equivalent of a sketch from up-and-coming painter in a sea of Basquiat and Picasso paintings… Well, not quite, but you get what I’m trying to say: out of all the other Aquazzura shoes, I feel like these flats are somewhat within reach. Somewhat… I’ll keep you posted.
