Wish | Everything Lisa Folawiyo

On Friday, Leandra Medine suggested that all her readers started following the Nigerian designer Lisa Folawiyo on Instagram. Well well well, it looks like Leandra and I have something else in common beside our love of stripes because I started following @LisaFolawiyo yesterday and she is indeed a breath of fresh air. I fell in love with her own eclectic personal style. I also have to admit that her way as a designer of manipulating colour and Ankara (a West African fabric) is actually making question my love of all things black…

Wish | Aquazzura, part 2

Yesterday, instead of sleeping, I spent the night obsessing about those Aquazzura flats and asking myself whether or not I should – well actually, whether or not I could splurge and buy them. On one hand,  summer hasn’t even started yet and I already have 3 major social events (weddings) lined up… So these shoes are definitely NOT the smartest way to spend my entire summer wardrobe budget. But, on the other, I highly doubt that Cannes’ recent flatgate will have any effect on these weddings’ dress code… which means that I could take a cue from Leandra Medine and just wear them to all of these weddings…

The thing is: they are, even by my standards, way too somber for such joyous celebrations. So I did some looking around and found the perfect pair of flat sandals to attend a wedding, or 3. I’ll keep you posted…

Wish | Elsa Peretti® Bone Cuff

When I go shopping, for every piece I go home with – my want then becoming a have, there are 3 others that I only get to look at – these are and will most likely forever remain my wishes. This new section will be all about these haves, wants and wishes…

If you look inside my jewellery box (and by jewellery box, I mean the tray that sits on my dresser), you’ll find a pendant in the form of a bean – pretty mundane, I know. And yet it’s one of my most beloved possession.

This particular picture of Leandra Medine started it all:

At first, it was her shoes that appealed to me: pointy, black and white, oxford shoes? Love. Then I noticed the cuff on her wrist… And for a while, every time I’d see a picture of her, she’d have that cuff on her wrist.

So, of course, I became obsessed with her cuff and figured out that it was by Elsa Peretti, an Italian jewellery designer known for having created some of the Tiffany & Co.’s most recognized items – like the Teardrop and Open Heart pendants.

I fell in love with Peretti’s Bone cuff  because of the its simplicity, yet highly distinctive quality. I find it elegant, all the while being bold. I’d wear with jeans one day and to a wedding the next. And by I, I mean Leandra. Because as obsessed as I am with this cuff, it’s definitely still a wish…

Oh, and yes, my Bean Pendant was also designed by Peretti.
