Want | Margaux flats

With Fall slowly settling in and with temperatures quickly falling below 15 degrees Celsius,  I can’t deny it any longer:  it’s time to retire my beloved Birkenstock and Balenciaga sandals… Thankfully, yesterday I came across this picture on the Shoes of NYC Instagram account which reminded me that there is life after sandal season… in the form of ballet flats.

That same picture introduced me to a world I didn’t know existed for a commoner: custom-made shoes. I own J.Crew ballet flats – love!  I own a pair Repetto ballet flats – perfection! But I’m now ready for a made-to-measure pair of shoes.

Happy shopping everyone!

Coachella…

Now that I fancy myself a fashion blogger, I realize that there are some events, fashion shows and openings that I really should be attending. Case in point: Coachella, last weekend. I know that it’s still going on this weekend, but I already have other plans…

That being said, since that festival is as much about the fashion as it is about the music, I figured I could still plan out what I’d be wearing if I were to attend it:

For Friday, I’m thinking Hunter boots à la Kate Moss circa Glastonbury 2005. Who cares if there’s a drought in California and therefore, a very slim chance of there being any mud? Fashion is never about practicality…

But after losing 10 pounds due to excessive sweating, I’ll probably go for comfort on Saturday, like Kate Bosworth on this picture.

As for Sunday, as you all know, I’m not one for color but when it’s presented in such a fabulous way, even I can’t resist!

And the hair! Now, that’s hippie chic done right.

Anyhow, here’s what I’ll most likely be wearing tomorrow, because unlike over in California, they’re calling for rain here in Montreal… joyful joyful.

Today, I went back home…

I’ve always been into clothes. always. But I can’t say that I understood the impact that wearing quality clothing can have on a person until I started working at CM. There, I discovered words like silk, merino wool, cashmere. I learnt that something as simple as a pair of pants could come in different cuts, but that, most importantly, these different cuts did not fit everyone the same way – so beware! I learnt that jeans are never only jeans and that black was not only a color reserved for somber days – it was an everyday color. My everyday color.

Today, I went home.

P. S. Did you notice the Futures?

Champagne taste…

I was going up the stairs at work one day and I realized that sadly, I still don’t live in New York and that, even sadder: I don’t own a Celine purse. Nope – not anytime soon, not on a teacher salary. So I thought why not poke fun at my champagne taste… and hence, this blog.

Oh and by the way, today, I wore some color.
